Don't shorten it according to the instructions because it will be too short for the front and for the rear, if it gets shortened, you have to drill a new hole for the air because the screw blocks the original hole and according to the tire fitter, it's far below the rim anyway and there's no point in punishing it even for driving at low pressure.
